Strategic use of COUNTER data – library webinar

We are all aware that we need credible and authoritative data to support library decision- making. COUNTER usage data is an important tool in a library’s data warehouse, not only in calculating cost-per-use and informing cancellation and acquisition decisions. Usage data can also support the value of the library’s investment in content, and it can be used as evidence in publisher negotiations.

In this round table, our expert panel will discuss how they have used COUNTER usage data and their successes. They will also consider what next steps COUNTER should take and how the library community can support them. For example, by calling for greater publisher compliance with the standard, improved interoperability with library management systems, or additional metrics for the monitoring of transformative agreements.
